What decision making models exist?

In every organisations decisions are being made all the time. Are the decision being made the best ones?

Here are some examples of decisions

  • Who should I hire?
  • What should be the next improvement project?
  • What products should promote more and which ones should we drop?
  • What is the most effective marketing campaign for this promotion?

Decision usually boil down to

  • How to organise work?
  • How to spend resource (time) and money?

Decision usually involve the selection from a list of alternatives. Here are three basic types of model

  1. Intuitive Decision Making

  2. Rational Decision Making

  3. A Better Decision Making Model - a combination of 1) and 2)
